The man who opened the door smiled brightly at you,"ah! (F/n) do come in."
You walk into the house and see a little boy playing with little robots on the floor.
The man points at him,"this is my little Equius. Shouldn't be any trouble, right?" He asked the boy.
He straightened up,"no sir."
He chuckled a little.
You smile down at the boy,"hello Equius, my name is (f/n) (l/n),"
"Pleased to meet you miss.(l/n)."
You giggle,"dont be so formal! Just call me (f/n),please."
He nods and blushes a little.
"Father I maintain that this is not necessary."
You turn to see a boy your age standing in the doorway.
His hair was down to his mid back and pulled back into a ponytail.
He was carrying arches equipment.  
The man smiled at you,"this is my son. He's training for the city's archery competition."
"Congratulations," you say to him.
"Thank you but I think you can go."
"No she cant," his father spoke sternly,"you need to focus and practice. You can do neither while watching your brother."
"Father-"
"I dont want to hear it Horuss. Train. Miss (l/n) is perfectly capable of watching Equius."
The boy scowled but walked back outside.
His father turned back to you,"if theres an emergency he'll just be outside. I should be back around eight."
"I'll see you then."
He smiles at you, kisses his sons head and then walks out the door.
You sit next to the little boy on the floor,"so what do you like to do Equius?"
He blushes,"I like making robots."
"Oh thats cool!"
"Ya! I made a few of my friends! Like my best friend Nepeta!"
He pulls out one that had cat ears and a tail.
"She doesn't really have those, she just really likes cats,"he pulls out another,"and this is Gamzee. He's a little silly but he can be great. I know it."
Theres one more and you point to it,"who's that?"
He blushes more,"Aradia, she's this really pretty girl I know."
You try not to squeal,"oh! How do you know her?"
"She hangs out with Karkat and Sollux, they're friends with Gamzee. She doesn't even know my name..."
"Oh well Im sure she'll like you once you get closer!"
"She hangs out with the wrong people though... I cant be around her."
"What makes them wrong?"
He pouts,"they're in the other class. I dont think its right for me to hang out with them."
"I think you can do whatever you want to do."
He looks shyly up at you,"really?"
"Of course!"
*time skip*
You continued to talk to Equius until you chose to start making him dinner.
Your chopping tomatoes for a sauce while Equius plays at the kitchen counter.
Then he looks up at you,"can I help?"
"Sure! If you want to."
He walks up to you,"ok what can I do?"
"Hmmm why dont you start by getting some pasta?"
He walks over to the shelfs and pulls it off before handing you the box.
"Ok now grab me a pot."
He opens one of the drawers and gets you the pot.
You fill it with water and place it on the stove turning it on.
"Is the water boiling yet?" He asks looking up at the pot.  
"No it takes a while," you say smiling at the little boy.
"I'll check!" He says excitedly.  
He grabs the handle of the pot pulling it down.
The small pot falls out of his grasp spilling some of the water and causing the pot to fall on your foot.
You let out a shriek and clamp your hand over your mouth.
Equius eyes well up,"(f-f/n)," he stuttered,"I'm so sorry I didnt mean it."
"I know you didnt," you squeak out.
"Whats this commotion?" A booming voice interrupted you.
Equius ran up to his brother crying,"I dropped the pot on her foot!" He sobbed,"I didn't mean it I'm sorry!"
His older brother picked him up and looked to you,"I apologize for my brothers mistake. May I examine your foot?"
"I'm sure its fine," you say unconvincingly.  
He lifts an eyebrow,"really? Then put weight on it."
You keep your foot lifted and sigh,"I'm ok. Really."
The boy comes up to you and places your arm over his shoulders you blush a little at the contact
He helps you over to a chair and you sit down.
"Equius. Please bring me some ice."
The small boy nodded as the other leaned down to examine your foot.
After a while of poking your foot he stood back up,"I do not believe anything is broken. I apologize for my brother."
"Its ok. Accidents happen."
He looks at you and smiles slightly,"more often then they should around my brother."
You shrug,"a lot of kids are clumsy at that age. He'll grow out of it."
"I can only hope."
"So," you say,"archery?"
"Yes. It has been my passion for a very long time."
"Does Equius like it?"
"Every time he's tried he has broken a bow."
You cant help but laugh,"thats too bad."
He shrugged,"they were old and worn anyway."
"So whens the competition?"
"Saturday..." He blushes a little,"would you..."
He stops looking down.
"Would I what?"
"Like to come?"
Your face flushes. Not expecting that.
But you look at the muscular boy who looks nervous and had to admit he seemed very sweet.
"Sure," you say,"I'd love to."
